The Exceptional Sale

Sale Overview
Following the success of The Exceptional Sale in London and New York, the inaugural Paris auction will offer masterpieces from various categories: furniture and works of art of the 17th and 18th centuries, antiquities, modern art and vintage cars. Their quality, their provenance, their history and what they symbolise make them exceptional, as with the top lot of this sale, an early Louis XVI desk, its cartonnier stamped by Philippe-Claude Montigny and its cartonnier’s clock signed by Martin, from the collection of Comte Thierry de Ganay. Also part of this selection are a Porsche 911, acquired during the shooting of the film Le Mans, this bronze by Bugatti and a Sèvres porcelain sugar bowl ordered by Empress Catherine the Great of Russia for Prince Grigory Potemkin.
