The London Sale

In an extraordinary year for London, Christie’s is proud to be staging a one-off themed exhibition and auction: The London Sale. The special extended exhibition, which will run for six-weeks throughout the Olympic Summer from 27 July through to the auction on 3 September 2012, is sure to prove popular with visitors to the buzzing cultural hub of South Kensington. Comprising a total of 167 lots, the exhibition and sale will present a broad variety of items synonymous with London. The display offers an exciting opportunity for lovers of, and visitors to, London to explore the history of one of the most popular cities in the world. The auction will present the chance for collectors to acquire pieces of the city’s iconic imagery and history from pictures and prints, through to rock and roll, Royal, Olympic and political memorabilia, and even a 1966 RML Leyland London Routemaster double-decker bus
