The 20th and 21st Century Art sales season continues with three online auctions bringing together diverse artworks spanning from the historical avant-gardes to contemporary creation.
Among them, the 'Thessa Herold: une femme d'intuition' collection pays tribute to the singular eye of this discreet figure of the Parisian art scene through nearly 170 works creating a dialogue between Surrealism, the avant-gardes and contemporary art. Guided by the collector’s intuition and intellectual rigor, the selection brings together artists such as Jean Arp, Paul Klee, Man Ray, Roberto Matta and Wifredo Lam in a sensitive exchange across generations and mediums.
The Impressionist and Modern Art and Contemporary Art sales feature major artists including Jean Arp, Henri Matisse, Fernand Léger, Gerhard Richter, Cy Twombly and Bernard Frize, offering a panorama of the major artistic developments from the 20th century to the present day. From the historical avant-gardes to contemporary experimentation, the selections highlight the diversity of artistic practices across painting, sculpture, works on paper and photography. Particular attention is also given to women artists and photography, notably through a landmark group of images by Nan Goldin.
