WEST ANATOLIA, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The turquoise blue field with a central ascending floral vine flanked by rows of 'peanut' forms beneath a similarly colored floral bud arch, in a cream, deep brown and butter-yellow floral bud cane design border between turquoise and butter-yellow floral guard borders, wear, areas of tinting, partial ends, minor repairs
Approximately 5ft. 2in. x 3ft. 6in. (157cm. x 107cm.)
Warp: white wool Z2S, depressed, strongly undulating
Weft: for the most part 2 shoots 1 strand yellow with one strand brown, yellow, ochre or ivory, Z1, one undulating, the other more so; at times a single shoot of wool Z2S slightly undulating similarly coloured
Pile: wool Z1, symmetrical inclining to the left, H2.8 x V3.5/cm.
Remarks: lazy lines, row adjustments
