A CASED PAIR OF 50-BORE PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS

Converted from flintlock, with heavy browned twist octagonal sighted barrels, silver fore-sights, engraved case-hardened patent breeches each with platinum line, platinum-lined stamp, and pierced platinum plug, engraved case-hardened tangs each incorporating a back-sight, signed engraved case-hardened detented locks each with blued safety-catch, the hammers each with detachable nose, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, engraved blued iron mounts including serial numbered trigger-guards, the trigger-plates each with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end caps, original horn-tipped ramrods, and much original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories, the lid with flush-fitting carrying handle (trade label removed, case with some repairs and restoration), the barrels forged by Charles Lancaster
