Cylindrical and with two hinged drop-ring side handles, with reeded ribbon-tied berried foliage border, detachable domed covers and detachable acanthus leaf and reeded ring handles, the detachable plain liners each engraved with a crest beneath Viscount's coronet, the bodies and covers engraved twice with a coat-of-arms beneath Earl's coronet, marked on bodies, liners, covers and side handles, the cover handles unmarked

The arms are those of Lowther for William, 1st Earl of Lonsdale, K.G. (1757-1844).
