Oblong 2° (420 x 520mm). Engraved title (torn and partly repaired) and index in Russian and French, 60 engraved maps hand-coloured in outline on 81 sheets by Eremin, M. Ivanov, I. Falileev, Piadyshev, Finagenov, Shkatov, and Frolov, after Piadychev. (Some leaves soiled, mostly in the outer margin.) Contemporary Russian roan-backed boards (worn and partly restored), spine with gilt ornaments and orange and green lettering pieces (rubbed).
The atlas was first published in 1828, the maps issued from 1823-27, and documents the Russian Empire and its sphere of influence. He also issued a map of the Irkutsk region in 1826.
