A large gold enamel and hardstone circular hinged locket in the Renaissance style

The striated agate covers bordered with powder blue champlevé enamel gilt with foliage edged in white, the scroll brackets above and below set with sardonyx, the covers opening to reveal two female busts carved in garnet, each flanked with four miniature 17th Century shell cameos of animals and mythological figures, the rims enamelled in the manner of Altenstetter with musical instruments and flowering foliage, the hinge defective
