Triangular cane seat with deep apron, gently concave tapering slat back inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bone, tapering square-section uprights forming the front legs

Lot Essay

The production of this design by the Dresdener Werkstätten für Handwerkskunst is recorded in the photo archives of the DWH, dated 1903. A chair in black-stained oak to the same design was exhibited at the Heirat und Hausrat exhibition in Dresden 1903, (reproduced: Klaus-Peter Arnold, Vom Sofakissen zum Städtebau, Dresden, 1993, p. 57.)
