With rounded corners, the cover decorated in gold and iroe hiramakie and takamakie, with a young woman seated at a writing table and another leaning at the end of a table, the dark brown ground interior with flowerheads and leaves, a metal kidney-shaped suiteki and an ink slate, (the inner frame possibly replaced, some age cracks and wear)
