Three German hunting swords, two forming a pair
The first mid-18th century, the pair late 19th century
The first with fullered single-edged blade double-edged at the point and blued, etched and gilt over half its length on each side with game, a trophy of arms, and a floral spray, cast and chased brass hilt with a stag and hounds in relief on the down-curved shell and a boar's head on the pommel, retaining faint traces of gilding, and with natural staghorn grip; the pair with narrow blades each etched on both sides with running foliage involving trophies of arms, cast bronze hilts each with fluted pommel and down-curved shell, deer-hoof quillon terminals, natural staghorn grip set with three bronze acorns, and original bronze-mounted leather scabbards
