A 38-bore German percussion sporting rifle

With browned octagonal sighted barrel signed in silver at the breech, windage adjustable fore-sight, scroll engraved patent breech with integral tang engraved with scrollwork and a hind and fitted with folding peep-sight, back-action lock engraved with scrollwork and a stag, and fitted with pivoting safety-stop in front of the hammer, figured walnut half-stock carved with foliage in relief on the butt and cheek-piece, chequered grip, patch-box containing an iron combination tool and an iron jag, and with carved cover, engraved iron mounts, wooden trigger-guard with pierced scrolled tang, set trigger, white-metal escutcheon, horn fore-end cap, and original ramrod (forward sling loop missing)
