Lot Essay

Henry Wood (1786-1844) was the eldest son of Richard Wood of Hollin Hall and his wife Delia, only daughter of Thomas Schaak, of Askham Bryan, York (for whom see lot 13). He married Anne Eliza, fifth daughter of John Eckersall of Elverton House, near Bath, in 1810, and inherited Hollin Hall from his father.
