THREE SMALL LACQUER BOXES
EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

A group of three small boxes and covers comprising a round kogo designed in togidashi and gold powder with a fishing boat, river, cliffs and hills, signed on the black and nashiji interior Shunsho and with kakihan, mounted with silver rims--3 1/8in. (7.8in.) diameter; a shallow rectangular box decorated with two shaped reserves of gold chrysanthemums and waves and with a nashiji interior--3 3/8 x 3 x ¾in. (8.6 x 7.7 x 1.8cm.); and another shallow rectangular box patterned with two book covers, one of karakusa scroll titled Genji monogatari and one of black and gold key frets, slightly open to reveal gold calligraphy on silver pages, the interior dense nashiji--3¼ x 2¾ x ½in. (8.2 x 7 x 1.8cm.), edge nicks, some wear (3)
