Lot Essay

Several other pieces bearing the as yet unidentified marque au feu CAP are known. They include both examples of ébénisterie and menuiserie and include a commode attributed to Jean-Henri Riesener, sold M. de Beeche, 11 June 1947, lot 132, and a chair stamped by Georges Jacob, previously in the collection of Christian Dior. The stamp presumedly refers to a particular collection or house.
