QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK IN BLUE WITHIN A SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD
Finely and delicately painted in famille rose on the exterior with a dense allover pattern of composite floral scroll incorporating blossoms of peony, lotus, lilly, camelia, rose, prunus and chyrsanthemum borne on intertwined, green leafy vines, and reserved on a bright yellow ground, the interior painted turquoise and fitted with a removable, copper inner tray pierced with a shou-character roundel, the low, domed cover decorated with a delicate band of conjoined ruyi head picked out in blue surrounding the white jade finial carved as a mythical beast seated on its haunches, some losses
