A MASSIVE PAIR OF 'LOTUS POND' FLOWER GROUPS IN PAINTED ENAMEL JARDINIÈRES
18TH/19TH CENTURY

Each tall silk thread-wrapped wire stem supporting a single large lotus blossom, pod, buds or leaf carved from various jades, tourmaline or rose quartz, one with an amethyst kingfisher flying amidst the foliage and a white jade crane standing below, the other with a pair of malachite mandarins standing on an amethyst rock, contained within a circular painted enamel jardinière, the tapering lobed sides decorated with blossoms scattered on a pink foliate ground, restoration and repairs
