Modelled in the form of a Buddhist lion seated on its haunches with jaws clenched and pierced with a small water spout in the center, the eyes encircled by incised rings for definition below brows incised in zig-zag lines, the ears pressed flat against the shoulders and the tail resting on the back, decorated in underglaze iron-brown in random dabs and washes and in underglaze blue in the incised rings surrounding the eyes, in the eyebrows and in the ears, the pupils of the eyes rendered in underglaze iron-brown; covered by a white glaze with even lustre, the flat base unglazed--3¾in. (9.5cm.) long, 2¼in. (5.6cm.) high
