Of oval section decorated with hibiscus on a gold ground, the blossoms inlaid in mother-of-pearl and the leaves in two-color gold takamaki-e with variegated textures and cut-gold accents, the interior cases nashiji; fitted with an ivory netsuke in the figure of a farmer, sealed Gyoku, and a carved ivory bead ojime--3 3/8in. (8.6cm.) high
