ENCIRCLED YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Of ogee form, the exterior decorated with a band of breaking waves around the foot and incised key-fret border below the rim, covered overall in an attractive pale blue glaze of characteristic tone, the base white (minute chip to inner foot rim)

Lot Essay

A similar dish in the Hong Kong Museum of Art was included in the Hong Kong museum's exhibition, The Wonders of the Potter's Palette, 1984, Catalogue, no. 59.; another with a pale celadon glaze was included in the Min Chiu Society Exhibition of Monochrome Ceramics of the Ming and Ch'ing Dynasties, 1977, Catalogue, no. 72.
