Decorated around the body with a continuous scene of a scholar standing in his studio, next to a terraced garden where two attendants flank a man being presented two lotus sprigs, with two further attendants nearby, the garden with a lotus pond and rockwork issuing plants and flowers, with the moon and billowing clouds overhead, the high rounded shoulders with a band of flower-heads interspersed with ruyi-shaped clouds, the cover depicting a lotus pond and rockwork, the sides similarly decorated, painted in underglaze-blue and copper-red and picked out in green, yellow, aubergine, brown and black enamels, the nianhao written within double circles at the base
