Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A). English-bottled by John Harvey & Sons
Badly damaged labels. Levels: four base of neck and two top-shoulder
A superb Harvey's bottling served at Jack's Bordeaux Club dinners in June 1987 and December 1991. Rather boring to repeat "perfection", but it was, and is. I noted a good long Harvey cork; rich, warm colour; a fruity fragrance that blossomed in the glass; soft, fleshy yet silky, perfect balance and condition. M.B.
