A one-page typewritten letter from Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis to Joe Jackson. The letter dated April 6, 1922 is in response to the query forwarded by Ban Johnson regarding Jackson's bonus money. Landis firmly responds, In view of the crime in connection with the World's Series of 1919, of course the money about which you inquire cannot be paid to you.. Landis goes Neither can any club in organized baseball that had entered into a contract with you be permitted to carry out the contract. On BASEBALL stationary and signed in black ink.
