The engraved silvered rectangular scale, inscribed Whitehurst, Derby, 1764, with brass adjuster screw to the extreme right, the rectangular crossbanded case surmounted by a shaped pediment with gadrooned edge, later circular cistern cover below, with shaped apron, lacking several sections of veneer and pointer, restorations
