The Fringe of Wednesday Market, Uttoxeter

An etcher and illustrator, Squirrell studied at the Ipswich School of Art and at the Slade. He is best known for his aquatints of East Anglia, the Lake District and Scotland, and his watercolours betray his printmaking background in their firmness of line and clarity of definition. He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolour Society, and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
