The case with typical brass handle to bell top, later sound frets to the sides and front door (lacking feet), the dial signed Jno.Hubbard, Southwark on a silvered signature plaque in the Chinoiserie engraved silvered centre with calendar aperture, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement and strike on bell, the backplate with foliate engraving centred by a bird of paradise, pendulum holdfast to left side of backplate, movement securing brackets to the case;
the backplate is illustrated on page 98
