The brass-lined case with baluster handle to the inverted bell top with four urn finials, the dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with calendar and mock pendulum, strike/silent ring in the arch, Indian mask-and-foliate spandrels, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with verge escapement and pull quarter repeat on six bells with hour strike on a further bell, the foliate engraved back plate signed Henry Wade, London within a foliate cartouche;
the backplate is illustrated on page 98
