Hollar and others from John Ogilby's edition of the Iliad and Odyssey, all ruled in red, comprising folding portraits of Ogilby and the Duke of Ormond, two folding frontispieces, 71 plates, 1 folding. (Lacks the front blank and general title to the first volume of the Iliad, lacking final blank to the first volume of the Odyssey, some light browning to plates and facing text leaves.) Late 18th-century English red morocco gilt, covers with fillet and roll tool border, including greek-key roll, spine in seven compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, the others with repeat decoration made up from foliage sprays and various small tools, gilt turn-ins, g.e. Provenance: Major John Roland Abbey (armorial bookplate, sale Sotheby's 22 June 1965, lot 386).
