HIERONYMUS, Saint (340?-420). Epistolae. Venice: Andreas de Torresanus de Asula, 15 May 1488.
2 volumes, royal 2 (385 x 252mm). Collation as BMC. 172 (of 180) and 219 (of 234) leaves (without first and final blanks and lacking , l7-10, m1, p4-5, A3-6, I5-6, 10, P9-10, Q1-3 and Z7-8. 57 lines, printed foliation in lower corner. Large woodcut printer's device in red on last leaf. Major initials in interlocking red and blue, small initials and paragraph marks alternating in red and blue. (5 leaves with restored outer margin with loss of a few letters, final leaf curdely repaired with slight loss, a few small wormholes.) 18th-century French red morocco in the style of Derome, triple gilt fillet border on sides, gilt spines, turn-ins gilt with pomegranate-floral roll, g.e. Provenance: some early marginal annotations; Charlotte Bedingfeld (inscription flyleaf, 'bought by me at Ghent to give to one of our Colleges').
