A 12-inch (30.5cm.) diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve delicately hand-coloured engraved gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours clockwise and anti-clockwise and in minutes, the eclitpic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with names of the month and symbols for the houses of the Zodiac, the Meridian of Greenwich ungraduated, the oceans with an analemma, the continents finely detailed, with nation states delicately outlined in green, red or yellow, the Antarctic with projected coastline and showing details such as Magnetic Pole Hereabout and Perpendicular Barrier of Ice (some abrasions, neat repairs, several rattling objects within the sphere), with stamped brass hour dial, the brass meridian circle engraved on one side and divided in four quadrants, the papered horizon ring graduated in degrees clockwise and anti-clockwise, days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, showing compass directions, names and symbols for the houses of the Zodiac, months and information for use of the horizon Engraved by Chas. Malby, with four turned and carved fruitwood legs united by turned cross stretchers to centre post -- 18in. (45.7cm.) high
