With swamped octagonal sighted barrel signed at the breech, shaped tang incorporating the back-sight, flat lock engraved with scrollwork on a hatched ground and signed with the engraver's initials 'IGD' in front of the pan, behind the spindle a street scene involving two horses, a dog, and a standing figure in an archway enclosing the initials 'PH', moulded walnut full stock carved in low relief with rococo ornament and inset with brass plaques pierced with scrollwork and monster-heads, the cheek-piece with an imperial double-headed eagle within brass wire scrolls, sliding patch-box cover overlaid with brass inlaid with wood and horn, indented brass trigger-guard (split) with pierced finials, set trigger, horn fore-end cap inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and later horn-tipped ramrod
