A well detailed and presented wood and metal display model of a French 95mm Cannon of circa 1888
with a limber of circa 1858, the gun with blacked steel rifled barrel and opening breech, touch hole and metal carriage with elevation jack, ramrod, brush and sponge, the metal axle with wooden wheels with separate spokes and felloes and brass hubcaps. The limber with wooden axle and similar wheels and ammunition chest with dummy shells and cartridges, axe and spade and metal furnishing, the whole finished in matt varnish, black and polished brightwork and mounted on a simulated cobbled road with another ammunition box, a display of shells, the pole with attachments for two horses and French standard -- 8½ x 21in.
