the frame, canopy, baskets and dishes, with maker's mark of Thomas Pitts, London, 1762, the branches, canopy supports, finial, applied figures and cartouches, unmarked, circa 1845
The openwork frame on four scroll and foliage feet, the apron cast and chased with scrolls, flowers and foliage, with detachable pierced boat-shaped basket above, with vine border, with four leaf-capped scroll branches, each terminating in foliage dish-holder and detachable shaped circular pierced dish, with four vine and winged putti branches, each terminating in two vine drip-pans, campana-shaped sockets and vine nozzles, the winged putto each holding a pierced sweetmeat basket, the open canopy on four vine and putto suppports, and hung with vines and applied with dancing bacchic putti, the detachable finial with bacchic goat and drunken bacchic putti, the frame applied with two vacant shield-shaped cartouches with Royal crown above, marked on frame, canopy, baskets and dishes, the branches, canopy supports, finial, applied figures and cartouches, unmarked
