Finely carved in relief on one side with a scene of a woman wearing a loosely draped robe seated before her mirror on a kang, with a dragon screen behind her and an incense burner and accoutrements on a rockwood stand in the foreground, her two attendants standing either side of a pillar to one side, the reverse incised with a lengthy inscription highlighted in black and with two seals highlighted in red, traces of gilding and pigment

The inscription refers to the scene depicted, Yang Guifei bathing. The piece is also inscribed with the artist's name, Yang Renshen or Yang Shihui and the cyclical date, Jiashen.
