A FLEMISH PASTORAL TAPESTRY
Late 17th Century
Woven in wools and silks, depicting to the right a fisherman with his son carrying a basket of fish, to the left with an extensive lake landscape, the back with two ducks and a bird flying above, before a reeded foliate band and a wooded landscape beyond with a further figure walking, before an open landscape, within a later cream and blue outer slip, reduced in size, minor areas of reweaving and patching, to the left a vertical split that has been reattached
7 ft. 10 in. x 11 ft. 4 in. (240 cm. x 347 cm.)
