A Meissen chinoiserie two-handled ecuelle and a cover
Circa 1725, indistinct gilder's mark to cover
Painted in the manner of J.G. Hroldt, the cuelle with angular handles, painted with Orientals at various pursuits on terraces, within shaped oval quatrefoil gilt cartouches with iron-red scrolling foliage and Bttger-lustre panels edged with gilt scrollwork, the cover with three Orientals on terraces around a gilt branch finial, within concentric iron-red circles and a border of gilt interlocking scrollwork (cuelle with minute chipping to rim and two small areas of wear to gilding, cover with restored shallow rim chip, very slight wear to gilding)
