The feather-banded case with single skirt to the plinth (lacking secondary skirting), rectangular trunk door with later escutcheon and lacking most mouldings, concave throat moulding to the hood with -columns and later pierced wood sound frets beneath the caddy top, the 12 in. sq. dial signed Markwick London on the silverd Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with low-positioned ringed winding holes, calendar aperture and age and phase of moon apertures at XII, the substantial movement with six large ringed pillars, anchor escapement and internal rack strike on bell above; later seatboard
