by Mathieu Coiny, marked, Paris, 1767/1768, with the charge mark of Jean-Jacques Prvost 1762-1768 and the discharge mark of Julien Alaterre 1768-1775, the miniature by Carlo Poluzzi, signed with initials, 1961
Elongated oval box, the cover enamelled with an oval miniature of Queen Marie Leszczynska (1703-1768), wife of King Louis XV of France, wearing a court dress and rich jewellery, surrounded by boldly chased c-scrolls, roses and floral swags with translucent blue enamelled guilloch reserves, the sides and base similarly enamelled en basse-taille on reserves chased and engraved with a harbour scene, an architectural landscape, flowers and a trophy of love, within foliage borders chased in two-colour gold
