A LOUIS XIV GILT-TOOLED RED LEATHER BRUSH AND AN ITALIAN DARK TORTOISESHELL DUSTING-BRUSH
Late 17th-Century, the Italian brush circa 1740
The brush with red leather cylindrical handle tooled with gilt fleurs de lys, the top with the cypher of Louis XIV beneath Royal crown, in contempory leather sleeve-case stamped with further numerous fleurs de lys; the dusting-brush with baluster handle with gold border and piqu pos in gold with scrolling panels of scalework and foliage
The brush case 5 in. (13 cm.) long; the dusting-brush handle 2 in. (5 cm.) long
