The case with pierced and engraved brass frets to the bell stand above openwork panels, side panels with later apertures for pendulum, hoop and spurs to the rear, lacking iron backplate, 1in. wide chapter ring, foliate engraved dial centre signed Robert Robinson at the Still in Lothbury Londini Fecit, silvered alarm-setting disc, later blued steel hand, the dial plate with restorer's inscription dated 1842 to the reverse, the twin train movement with altered verge escapement and centre swinging pendulum, with countwheel strike via Continental style vertically positioned hammer with leaf spring, lacking alarm train
