A 18th-Century brass universal equinoctial ring dial,
unsigned, engraved on the meridian ring with a quadrant scale on one side, and the latitudes of eight continental cities and a further eight cities and latitudes on the other side, with sliding bridge and suspension loop decorated with foliage, the pivoted equinoctial ring with a further seven place names and latitudes on one side, and inscribed with the date 1764, the other side engraved with an hour scale, with corresponding markings on the inner edge, the bridge with zodiac and calendar scales and sliding pin-hole sight -- 2in. (7cm.) dia.
