A late 18th-Century French brass graphometer,
signed on the scale Meurand Paris, the silvered scale divided 180-0-180, the frame fret cut and engraved with scrolls and foliage, the limb mounted with twin slit and wire sights, the alidade with similar sights, the compass box with silvered dial, star engraved with the cardinal points, blued and burnished steel needle with agate cap, and clamp, on a ball and socket staff mounting, with display stand, the limb -- 14in. (36.2cm.) long, (alidade sights and staff mounting re-lacquered)
