A needlework picture worked in coloured silks, purl and chenille with beadwork and mica details, with raised work, the centre with a lady holding a flower within a bower of fruiting vines and other fruit and foliage, possibly personifying smell, with a mermaid in a pool holding a comb and mirror, probably representing vanity, a lion and leopard in the bottom corners, a kingfisher and parrot above, with buildings in the distance, against an ivory satin ground--21 x 17in. (54 x 45cm.), third quarter of 17th century, English, framed and glazed, some wear and damage to the ground
