A ROMAN WHEEL-CUT GLASS BOWL FRAGMENT
circa 4th century a.d.
From a free-blown shallow bowl of transparent light yellow, with a wheel-cut scene of a bearded warrior with a sword in his right hand, which is raised behind him, his left arm projecting forward, with a fillet in his hair, a mantle draped over his left shoulder, the end billowing behind, a building to the left with an arching pediment, the wings and head of a figure preserved along the left edge
