(Some spotting, about half the plates significantly browned.) Contemporary purple/brown morocco-backed boards, spines in five compartments with raised bands, lettered in gilt on the second and fourth, the others panelled in gilt (spines faded). Provenance: W.Vignat (bookplate).
Rare second edition, which Cordier states categorically "n'a pas t imprim". The first edition, titled Le Chine. Moeurs, Usages, Costumes.., was published in 2 volumes in 1815-1828.
