NARBONI, Moses ben Joshua (= Maestre Vidal Bellsom, Perpignan, c. 1300-Spain, 1362). Commentary on Mohammed Ghazali's Intentions of the Philosophers. MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM
[Ottoman Empire, 15th century]
230 x 170 mm. On vellum with distinguishable hair and flesh sides, arranged according to Gregory. 168 leaves, with later Hebrew foliation in ink. Brown ink. Byzantine semi-cursive scripts, from fol. 49 in a different hand. With marginal instructive drawings on fol. 60v. With marginal annotations in various hands. (Some minor natural holes, no loss of text, older paper flyleaf pasted onto originally blank fol. 1r, last page scuffed and soiled with loss of some text, otherwise excellent condition.) Modern blind and gold-tooled black morocco, edges red-stained, two modern paper flyleaves at back and front.
