A PAIR OF GERMAN WALNUT FAUTEUILS
Mid-18th Century
Each with a shaped padded back and seat upholstered chassis in later petit and gros point needlework, the shaped and moulded back and wavede seat-rail carved with foliage and centred by asymmetrical cartouches, the outscrolled arms with a further cartouche-shaped motif, above cabriole legs headed by floral sprays and terminating in upswept scrolled acanthus feet, stripped with traces of previous green paint, both with red chalk inscription numbered '3850', one with a label inscribed 'N.167/2/2 Barok/Fauteuil', restorations
