Each with a waved later jasper top with moulded Siena marble edge above a pierced frieze with rocaille flowers and foliage, on foliate-wrapped scrolling legs joined by a moulded and waved X-shaped stretcher centred by a scallop-shell and on foliate scrolling feet, regilt

Lot Essay

This pair of side tables, typical of Roman rococo side tables which often have the heavily scrolled legs (known as pieds en escargot) and scrolled rocaille motifs, similar Roman example which is recorded since 1872 in the Quirinale in Rome.
