A Manuscript Letter by Winston Churchill
A letter dated 1902 from Churchill to Mrs. Brockie, widow of Sergeant Brockie, a fellow-prisoner of Churchill in Pretoria and the other man he left behind with Haldane, in response to a request for financial assistance, the letter stating 'I am not a rich man, and have to earn by writing all I spend. I send you a cheque for 10 pounds which I hope may be of some assistance to you, and I regret it is not within my power to do more...'
