Set on a low foot with a foliated rim, decorated in red enamel and gilt over a clear glaze, the well with a dragon fish in waves, encircled by a band of scrolling vines in gilt on a red ground, the underside with two circular panels of a Chinese pavillion in a mountain landscape, and two stylized Chinese characters on a ground of gilt clouds, the surrounding area decorated with foliate sprays in gilt with incised details on a red ground, the foot with scrolling vines in gilt on a red ground below a band of lappets in blue enamel
